Paul and I went to see Date Movie last night and all that comes to mind is...."Why, Aly, why?" I can't say it was just a mediocre movie....I thought it was horrible. I find 'toliet humor' very unfunny.....and that is what most of the film had in it. Although, I did find two parodies funny (Kill Bill and Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and one joke about Alyson's character riding a motorcycle.
I did the following quiz.........and I'd have to say......don't really agree with the results......

The weekend is coming to a close and I'm already dreading the work week. I don't know why, I really do like my job.
Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment about a mole on my neck that was really painful this past week. It had turned red, and everytime something would rub against it...it would feel like a pin being stuck in my neck. Yesterday, I put a band aid over it after I took a shower (and before I did that I noticed the thing had turned black!). I took the band aid off this morning before I showered and showed Paul what it looked like. He was surprised at teh color change. He said he'd put a band aid over it when I got out of the shower. Well, after the shower, I looked in the mirror and it was GONE! I couldn't believe it. It fell off while I was in the shower. And I have absolutely no pain in the area where the mole was. Hmmmm. Very weird (to me anyway). I'll still keep my appointment tomorrow and maybe the doctor can explain what happened...and make sure everything is okie dokie.
Last night, Paul and I watched Psycho. It was the first time I had ever seen it. It was a great film, but a little slow to me. I loved Anthony Perkins. Then we watched Office Space. It was hilarious! I think we'll have to add that DVD to our collection.
Well, I guess I need to start working on the kitchen and figure out what I'm going to be wearing to work tomorrow. I'll be so glad when they get the new A/C installed in our building.

I haven't got much to talk about. Life is pretty boring and work it really picking up. I have a ton of stuff to do at work.....complete some records management training, overdues, Women's History Month pamphlet and the regular duties for the circ desk. I'm ready for the weekend and Tuesday hasn't even started yet....isn't that sad?? Oh well.
Last Friday night Paul and I went to see Last Holiday with Queen Latifah. It was a really good movie. I liked the story and what it was saying; basically don't live your life in a box, don't live with possibilities......LIVE! I hope that makes sense.
We also finished watching Firefly! Why, oh why did they cancel this show??? It was such a great show.
I haven't done much reading over the last week and that's pretty sad. I have like 2 books that are due back to the library and I haven't even cracked the 2nd one yet. Maybe I'll get to reading some this evening. I really like the one I started a little over a week ago. The next one is a book about Gene Wilder.
Well, I guess I should start getting ready for my day.

this weekend really didn't go as planned but we did get to do some stuff..........
Friday: After work and dinner at Burger King on base, we went to see the movie Hoodwinked at the base theatre. I thought it was funny.....and a pretty good story. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the animation....I didn't think it was up to par.
Saturday: I had to work. It wasn't sooo bad, just boring. The most interesting thing that happened was....I felt my first earthquake! After realizing what had happened....I thought it was pretty cool, but for the split second it started I was scared. Once I realized what it was the fear was gone. We found out about an hour later it was a 5.1 with the epicenter about 15 miles off the coast in the Philippine Sea. What I thought was weird was that I heard the earthquake coming and didn't realize that was what it was. Living and working on an air force base you get used to hearing planes take off, so I just assumed that was what I was hearing.
Sunday: Paul was on call! I was pissed. It meant we couldn't go down to Big Navy like we planned. We did do part of what we had planned which was go grocery shopping. It's a long story about why he was on call....and why he couldn't get a hold of the guy that put his shift on call.....and it was totally bogus. That guy is a sorry excuse for a boss......and I'll leave it at that. I did get the hard drives on my desktop all cleaned up and organized, so at least that's done.
Monday: We drove down to Big Navy and picked up Nero 7 and the dvd Basic. I found a sheppard's staff so now I can hang up the bird feeder/light that I got for Christmas from a lady at work. Paul worked on the lawn today and unfortunately got grazed (lightly stung) by a Boonie Bee. He's okay, thank goodness. For dinner Paul cooked chicken on the grill and we skewered some veggies and grilled those too. Yummy. Now we're just chillin' watching Mythbuster (it's one I've seen several times!).
It's time for bed......

Today we went down to Big Navy. We were able to pick up seasons 1 & 2 of Stargate SG-1. We couldn't resist since it's been 2 months since we saw it in the exchange (either here on Andersen or Big Navy). We stopped by the mall and had lunch at Hawaii Grill....good food. :) When we got home, Paul mowed the lawn, then I watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes......and now I have Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend stuck in my head! :) I liked the movie...it was funny and I loved Jane Russell! She was great. I believe this was the first time I had ever seen Marilyn Monroe in a film. There was some laugh out loud moments in this...and I may just have to get this one on DVD (if it's out on DVD). After we ate dinner, I popped Beauty Shop in the DVD player. Funny! I love Queen Latifah. I think this might be a DVD for our collection, too!
Well, it's going to be a crazy day tomorrow.....Paul's truck is still in the shop, but we'll get to pick it up tomorrow (I hope), plus I work 11 to 8...yuck. Oh well.......time for bed...........

Paul and I got a later start to the day than we normally do. I made us breakfast tacos, and then we got ready to head down to Big Navy to do a little shopping. Unfortunately we never made it down there since the police had Marine 1 blocked; we'll just go tomorrow. We did go to KMart and I got some new shoes (something I've needed for quite some time) and then headed home. I'm off tomorrow, so after we drop Paul's truck at the shop we'll head down to Big Navy and so some shopping. Oh yeah.....I almost forgot....I was finally able to pick up Season 4 of Gilmore Girls!
Books I've read so far this year (2006):
Find Me by Rosie O'Donnell
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares
Girls In Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares
We watched Mean Girls last night. I really liked it.....so did Paul.....so I guess we'll be buying the DVD eventually.
Time to watch The L Word........

It was nice at work today. The patronage is back to normal....and I actually got some work done! Yay! Tomorrow is going to be crazy for me though......Paul has to go to PT, so I'll be a little late getting to work, then at 2.20 I have a 'sexual assault briefing' to attend. From what I've been hearing.....it's boring and it's like 1.5 hours long! I'm not looking forward to it. Oh well. At least I'm off this weekend.
Paul and I finished watching The Maltese Falcon tonight. Great film! I think this is my favorite Humphrey Bogart film to date. Okay.....I've only seen three of his films, but of those three.....this is my favorite. I hope to watch Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Beauty Shop, My Name Is Modesty, and Alexandera's Project this weekend.
I finally finished reading The Second Summer Of The Sisterhood yesterday. I got the 3rd book from the library yesterday, so I'll probably start that one tonight. Then, after that one it will be a book called Septimus Heap Magick Book One; my boss said it was a cute book. I'm really trying to get back into reading. I used to read all the time, but it has dropped off tremdously over the last 10 years or so. I still have 2 books on my bookshelf I want to read.....no telling when I'll get around to them though.
Well, I'm getting tired, so I'd better at least start the book.............

Today Paul and I went to a Brunch at the club. The food was pretty good....and I gorged myself on cantelope and honey dew melon......I don't get to eat them often and when I do......boy....I just over did it today. We also drove down to Big Navy and went to the NEX......nothing exciting there. I had hoped to pick up some DVDs, but nothing appealing.......maybe next week.
Tonight, Paul and I watched Citizen Kane. It was a good movie. I loved the cinematography. The story was good, but it was a little slow in places. And I think if I didn't already know about Rosebud, it would have been even better, ya know?

Well, I watched 2 movies I got from the library today...and I went to the movies here on base.
I went to see Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: Good movie. The specials effects were well done and I really thought the children in this film were great. And....I really do need to read the book!
At home I watched Sabrina on DVD: This was the original with Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden. I really liked the movie. This is only the 3rd Bogie movie I've seen. I liked the story very much and thought Hepburn was absolutely wonderful in this one. Bogart's performance was great too.
I just got done watching Stonebrook on VHS (yes....believe it or not, there are still some of those things out there): This one starred Seth Green and Brad Rowe. I wasn't too sure what to expect from this one other than 2 kids get sucked into working for the 'mob'. It had lots of twists and turns and Paul even said he didn't see some of the stuff coming.....and he usually has the thing figured out way before the movie is over. It was definately worth watching.....Seth Green was great. :)
